Why Mhlushwa? Why prayer for a political problem?
Because political problems affect people, their dignity, their freedom and their hope.
We gather at Mhlushwa to bring our nation’s burdens before God and seek wisdom, courage and unity.
In Mark 11:24, Jesus calls us to pray with faith:
“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24 (KJV)
In context, He teaches faith in God and reminds us to forgive when we pray. Prayer calls us to examine our hearts as we seek change.
Prayer strengthens us to act with compassion, pursue justice peacefully and stand together.
At home and in the Diaspora, let us unite in faith and support the Gathering of the Nation.
